A 25-year-old Chinese woman, Bao Quing Ling, has been crowned Miss Deaf World 2007 in the Czech capital, the organisers said.

Bao beat 18 other girls to become the seventh title holder at a ceremony in Prague on Saturday. The runner up was 21-year-old Kristina Weber, from Germany, followed by Neonila Kudlic, 18, from Ukraine.

Boa, a dancer from China's Dalian disabled art troupe, won over the 24-member jury which included Prague's mayor and the current Miss Czech Republic, with her interpretation of a classical Chinese love story. Her prize, a crystal crown, is valued at around 300,000 koruna (10,650 euros, 14,700 dollars).

The title was won last year by a 17-year-old from Serbia. (AFP) - PRAGUE, July 15, 2007
