Currently headed by renowned ophthalmologists Dr Julian Theng,Dr Lim Wee Kiak and Dr Jacob Cheng, EEC has an established reputation for offering quality eye care services with cutting-edge state-of-the-art eye treatment technology to patients at affordable prices.

EEC was opened by Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan on 28 Nov 2006, and was Singapore's 1st one stop LASIK and Presbyopia (Lao Hua Yan) Treatment Centre. Today, the 3,000 sq ft modern centre has expanded to provide a wide range of eye services, including refractive surgery, presbyopia treatment, cataract surgery, corneal transplants, glaucoma and diabete eye screening and treatments, age-related macular degeneration treatments, management of ocular inflammations and uveitis, retinal services, oculoplastics surgery, myopia control programmes for children and more.

Of the first 1000 LASIK surgeries performed at EEC, 99% of all patients achieved a visual success of 6/12 (driving vision) or better without glasses and without the need for visual enhancements. Furthermore, 100% of all patients who had Bladeless LASIK, Epi-LASIK and ICL at EEC achieved 6/9 vision or better without glasses.

Presbyopia (Lao Hua Yan)

Presbyopia, commonly known as "Lao Hua Yan", is the gradual loss of one's ability to focus on near objects as we age. As a centre that specializes in Presbyopia, EEC presently offers all forms of Presbyopia treatments - Monovision LASIK, Multifocal Lens Implants, Multifocal Contact Lens, Spectacle Progressive Lenses. Dr. Julian Theng also authored the book "A long-sighted look at Presbyopia" in 2007 to educate the public on Presbyopia.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract is the clouding of the lens in the eye. This causes vision to be blurred or blocked, phobia to lights or even color desaturation. For EEC’s first 800 cases, we achieved a 99.9% visual success rate. As a result of our established reputation in cataract treatment, EEC was chosen by world's largest eyecare company (Alcon) to be Singapore’s representative site to conduct the Phase 4 clinical trials for their latest multi-focal lens implants.

Myopia Control Program

Myopia is the medical term for nearsightedness or short sight. EEC's Myopia Control Program targets at reducing the progression of myopia in children. We are proud to announce that 100% of the children, who have since been enrolled in the Eagle Myopia Control Program, have experienced no increase in myopia, the program has shown a highly promising result with an 80% reduction in myopia progression over 2 years span.
