Consultant Plastic Surgeon Dr Andrew Khoo runs a plastic surgery practice dedicated to providing excellent professional care in a relaxed and private setting. If appropriate, patients will also be guided to relevant references in books or on the web for more in-depth information.

ARC’s elegant yet comfortable private waiting and consultation rooms were specially designed to maximize patient comfort and discretion. A fully equipped procedure room provides the latest facilities for minor surgical procedures. Outpatient surgical procedures can also be performed at Mount Elizabeth Hospital or at the Specialist Surgery and Laser Centre (SSLC) conveniently located in Paragon Medical Centre. These facilities offer ARC patients the most advanced laser, broadband light and radio-frequency therapies and premium inpatient and operating theatre facilities.

ARC can also utilise facilities at Gleneagles Hospital, Eastshore Hospital and Mount Alvernia Hospital for outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures. Consultant Plastic Surgeon Dr Andrew Khoo received his basic medical training at The National University of Singapore. He was awarded his Master of Medicine in Surgery in 1992 and went on to obtain fellowships from two prestigious medical institutions, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

He began his specialised Plastic Surgery training at the Department of Plastic Surgery in Singapore General Hospital. In 1996, he was awarded an HMDP scholarship by the Singapore Ministry of Health to further his subspecialty training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre, one of the world’s most renowned cancer hospitals.

At the Department of Plastic Surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Dr Khoo dedicated one year to refining his microsurgical skills in breast reconstructive surgery. He then furthered his training in craniofacial and aesthetic surgery with a one year fellowship at the Institute of Craniofacial & Reconstructive Surgery in Southfield, Michigan training under one of the world’s foremost Craniofacial and Aesthetic Surgeons, Professor Ian Jackson.

In 1998, he returned to Singapore General Hospital and within a year rose to the position of consultant plastic surgeon. In 2002, he left Singapore General Hospital to set up his private practice at the Aesthetic & Reconstructive Centre in Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Despite leaving the public healthcare sector, Dr Khoo still maintains a visiting consultant appointment at Singapore General Hospital.

Dr Khoo was elected President of the Singapore Society of Cosmetic (Aesthetic) Surgeons from 2004 - 2006 and is an active member of the Singapore Medical Association and the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons. He is also a committee chairman in the Medical Advisory Board of Mount Elizabeth Hospital and a committee member of the Chapter of Plastic Surgeons of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. In the international scene, Dr Khoo is a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr Khoo has presented extensively at local and international meetings and conferences and is well-regarded in the realm of medical research. In 1995, he was awarded the prestigious SGH Young Investigators Award for his study on the tracheobronchial cytology of patients who had suffered inhalational injury from burns. Whilst at the MD Anderson Cancer Centre, he researched and published several papers in peer reviewed journals on breast reconstruction and pelvic reconstruction. In addition to 16 published articles in international peer reviewed plastic surgery journals, Dr Khoo has also co-authored 2 book chapters in plastic surgery textbooks. He actively contributes to clinical research with continuing analysis of the results of breast reconstruction and aesthetic procedures in Singapore.
